From the STEM Department Chair Katie Hergenreder & Entire STEM Department
“When the STEM Department received the news about the incredible donation, we were asked the question 'What will the new STEAM Wing mean for STEM education at Foxcroft.' We looked at each other in awe because in truth, what doesn’t this mean for STEM Education?”
“
Studies show that everything from indoor air quality and lighting to windows with views of nature, to furniture and environments that allow for flexible learning, all support better learning outcomes. We had a front row seat to the effects of improved educational spaces on learning when we renovated the Briggs Biology Lab in 2015, as well as the Innovation Lab in 2017. These facilities inspired some of the most innovative projects we have ever seen, all of which have problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and creativity at their core. These were just a few rooms; imagine what we can do with an entire wing.”
